Anna Cake Couture
ANNA is a Bristol cake boutique founded by Anna Tyler, one of the UK’s top wedding cake designers.
What started in Clifton Village has grown into national reputation for cakes and patisserie that look every bit as good as they taste. Think modern buttercream finishes, jewel-like macarons, cubicakes and their much-loved chunky cookies. Elegant, playful and always crafted with care, ANNA has become the go-to for weddings, gifting and everyday treats.
We worked with ANNA right from the start, helping shape their brand positioning and bringing it to life through packaging, window displays and seasonal shoots. The aim was simple: create an identity and experience that feels as special as the product, and keep it consistent across every touchpoint.

The challenge
Anna’s cakes and sweet treats were works of art; meticulous, inventive, and already standing shoulder to shoulder with the best in the industry. The question was how to position her brand to reflect that standard, without losing the warmth of her personality.
The approach
We introduced Cake Couture, a name and identity that placed Anna confidently in the top tier (pun intended) while keeping her approachable and human. By building the brand around her own name, we made sure her personality shone through the polish.
The outcome
The result was a brand that feels both refined and relatable, couture quality with Anna’s own charm baked in.

Characterful Couture

Anna Tyler, Owner Anna Cake Couture
“I started working with Tom when it was just me baking cakes for friends and family. Now we’re a team of 25, sending products nationwide, and keeping the brand exciting and consistent across so many places wouldn’t have been possible without him. Tom’s become our brand guardian, creative guru, and a real friend along the way.”
What we did
Brand Positioning
Brand positioning is about deciding where a business sits in the minds of its audience.
For Anna, it meant showing that her cakes weren’t just beautifully made, they were couture creations that could stand alongside the very best in the industry. By positioning her brand at this level, while still letting her warmth and personality shine through, we created a space where clients immediately understood both the quality of her craft and the kind of experience they’d have working with her.
Identity Design
Identity design is about giving a brand its own visual language, the colours, type, and marks that make it instantly recognisable.
For Anna, we created a set of assets that felt elegant but never overbearing, letting her cakes and sweet treats take centre stage while still making sure everyone knew exactly where they came from. The identity had to be impactful without stealing the spotlight; confident enough to stand beside couture creations, but subtle enough to let the craft shine.
Packaging Design
Packaging is often the first physical touchpoint for a brand, the detail that draws people in before they’ve even tasted what’s inside.
For Anna, we used delicate outlines, touches of gold foil, and seasonal storytelling to make every box feel special. Whether sitting proudly on a shop shelf or handed over as a gift, the packaging became an extension of her brand, a way to showcase her creativity, mark collaborations, and turn each handover into a moment worth remembering.
Art Direction
Art direction is about shaping how a brand shows up in the world, the stories, moods and moments that bring products to life.
For Anna, every range and product had its own narrative, from summer parties to Valentine’s treats, and each needed a visual approach to match. Our role was to set the tone, crafting themes, directing shoots, and weaving in her core brand assets so that every image felt unmistakably Anna. The challenge was to keep things fresh while staying true to her style; a balance of consistency and creativity that made her brand instantly recognisable.
